Who We Are

My Story

I’m a Family Consultant and Certified Arise Interventionist who specializes in walking beside families in crisis—when addiction, mental illness, or severe behavioral issues threaten to tear everything apart. I’m not a therapist and I’m not a treatment center. I began this work after personally experiencing the unique heartbreak, guilt, confusion, and hope that come with loving a child or family member through addiction. My mission is to use my personal and professional experience to help other families struggling to find the help they need.

At 54, I was diagnosed with cancer and was told I would not survive. After a difficult journey, I came through it alive—and forever changed. That experience showed me that relationships and support are what sustain us through the hardest times. What once felt like the darkest chapter became a powerful gift, deepening my compassion and inspiring my commitment to stand beside others as they face their own struggles.

My Background

Professionally, I bring decades of leadership in financial relationship management, having served as a commercial banker, senior executive, and small business owner. Over time, my personal experience with addiction in my family led me to become a Certified ARISE® Interventionist and to dedicate my work to helping others navigate similar challenges. I've served as a Regional Coordinator and Group Facilitator with Parents of Addicted Loved Ones (PAL), where I’ve spent over five years coaching and supporting families through the complexities of substance use and mental health recovery.

Progress To Peace is based in Dallas, Texas and works with families across the United States. We also offer virtual services to provide guidance and support wherever you are.

Our goal is to make help accessible—no matter your location.

OUR APPROACH

ARISE® Intervention Model

An ARISE® Intervention is a respectful, non-confrontational way to help a loved one who’s struggling with addiction or mental health issues. Unlike traditional surprise interventions, ARISE invites the person of concern to be part of the process. This model is designed to build trust, reduce shame, and strengthen relationships. It happens in stages, so there's no pressure or forced decisions—just steady, compassionate support to help your loved one say yes to getting help. When families are strong and supported, recovery has a better chance of lasting.

Family Systems Approach

A family systems approach means we don’t just focus on the person who’s struggling—we look at how the whole family is being impacted, and how healing can happen together. It’s based on the idea that families are deeply connected, and when one person is hurting, everyone feels it. By working with the entire family, we can improve communication, set healthier boundaries, and shift patterns that may be keeping everyone stuck. This approach brings more clarity, stability, and hope—not just for the individual, but for the people who love them most.

Parents of Addicted Loved Ones (PAL)

PAL is a free support group for parents and family members who have a loved one struggling with addiction. It’s a safe, welcoming space to learn, share, and connect with others who understand what you’re going through.

Each weekly meeting combines peer support with practical education—offering tools to set healthy boundaries, respond with love instead of fear, and take care of yourself while still supporting your loved one. PAL is faith-based but open to everyone, and many families say it’s where they finally stopped feeling alone.
